My friend knew I liked this guy for a while and that we started to talk more/hang out. I don't use social media, but found out through the grapevine that he got into a relationship. Only a few weeks before she asked if I still liked him so I explained how we were getting closer and that he invited me out for his birthday. She even went on to say how we would be so cute together, the things he did were so cute etc. I think it was shady for her to not tell me that he got a gf. I feel that it was wrong since I could've continued to build up feelings for him not knowing that he now has a gf. I do feel that she has jealousy issues about things so it makes me wonder if she was secretly happy it didn't work out. Thoughts on this?

Edit: After hearing about it, a guy friend showed me the relationship status that my friend liked so she did know. That's why I was hurt by it.
