My painless labor and delivery story ! ❤️

Jamie • 21 years old 🎊 First baby girl was born on June 27 thanks to glow.👶🏼🌻

Are you ready to meet your baby ? Those were the exact words that came out, out of my doctor mouth. Very excited I reply " OF COURSE!!!!" I reply. That happen at my 39 Weeks appt. My doctor told me if I wanted to get induce Monday night ( jun 26, 2017)) since he was going on vacation the following Saturday to Cuba with his family and of course I said yes! I didn't want another doctor to receive my baby girl.

That morning after my appt, I went to do my hair and nails for the big day. After that I went to the hospital at 7:00 PM were I was going to get induce. The nurses received me and showed me the delivery room where I was going to meet my baby. There I got changed Into the hospital gown (let me remind you I was really nervous since this is my first baby) I sat in the hospital bed the nurses hooked my IV in and my antibiotics since I tested positive for GBS. While I was hooked they inserted me with a low doce of pitocin. The dose was 2 and the max was 20. At that moment I told the nurse that I wanted to get the epidural not at that moment but when contractions hitter harder.

The nurse checked me and I was 2 CM dilated. In the room was my boyfriend, mom and mother in law. All of us took a nap around 10:00PM... it was 4:00 AM and I was not getting no contractions at all. The nurse comes by and tells me " your doctor will come around 7:30 AM to break your water, even if you don't have contractions now- I suggest to get the epidural around 6:00 AM since once they break your water you will be having strong contractions."

Let me tell you, all this time I was having judge contractions every 2 mins and I was feeling nor pain At all... some times only a little of lower back pain. 6:00 AM came around and the nurse said let's get the epidural started but first we have to check how many CM you're dilated. In my head I was like " probably I'm 4 CM since my contractions have been really constant " the nurse check me and there was no improvement. I was still in 2 CM. At that moment I felt disappointed, I felt I wasn't going to progress and that I was going to end in C- section...

The anesthesiologist came by and gave me my epidural. For those who wants to know: I was terrified and nervous to get one but I didn't felt no pain at all. My other fiar was the catheter that they insert inside when you get one done. I told the nurse how sacred I was and she let me wait 15 minutes for the epidural to kick in then she inserted the catheter. Boom! It didn't hurt! I literally started laughing because I couldn't believe it. My family came back to the room after I got my epidural. So, once again the waiting game still on. At 7:00 AM there was a change of staff so the nurse I had went home and a new one showed up. She wasn't what I expected she was pretty dry and didn't explain anything. At 7:30 AM my doctor showed up and broke my water, he checked me and I was only 3 CM... I didn't progress nothing. At this point I'm living my life, epidural is in and I don't feel a thing.

My boyfriend goes out and he sees a nurse that we know that was in my sister delivery, once she knew I was in the room she talked to my doctor to see if she could get me as her patient. He said yes! What a relief! Thanks to her was when I saw improvement. That nurse put my pitocin at 16 and sat me up. She said that was going to make the baby active. After 4-5 hours I went to 5 CM, the nurse came by again and she changed my position, this time she put me on my side with one leg up. She left and I took a nap. After 30 minutes   I went from 5 CM to 10 CM! Yay!!!! Time to push !!!!!! The nurse ask me to give her some pushes to see how I did it and boom! I did it good she called the doctor and the game began. Every time I got the feeling to push they asked me to push for 10 seconds holding my breath. The doctor had to cut me three times. (Which I didn't feel it at all) he had to cut me because the head of my baby was to big and was stuck. After 45 minutes of pushing my baby girl Ivie Victoria arrived at 1:15 PM June 27,2017 she is 20 inches long and weighted 7 pounds exactly.

This is my painless labor and delivery story. I hope you enjoyed it since I have been reading many stories since I got pregnant. Till this point I don't know what a bad labor or contractions feels like. I hope you have a good labor and delivery. 😋
