What to wear in labor and after?

Question

Help ladies! What did you wear or recommend to wear before, during, and after labor? I want to be comfortable and was looking at gowns, slippers, robes, etc. What other items did you bring or wish you brought with you that you feel is a necessity?

I'm pretty high maintenance so if you are too I appreciate your input!

A robe for during and a tarp for afterwards....

I wore the hospital robe during labor and then a couple hours after cause I wanted to shower before I put my clothes on! Then I wore some comfy PJ pants when they were done checking me and a nursing bra. If I got cold or anything I had a black fuzzy robe to put on. Then my going home outfit was some sweats, flip flops, and a loose shirt. Everyone says you won't want to wear your own clothes, etc.. Uh, BS! I wanted to be in my own clothes so bad! I hated the dang hospital robes!

During labor i wore a hospital gown. After delivery i wore a hospital gown. 24 hours after delivery and i wore yoga pants. They really helped me keep from feeling like my insides werent falling out.

Wore hospital gown to deliver and brought a nightgown type pajamas. That way they could check everything down there and I didn't have to worry about trying to get pants off and it had the snaps for breastfeeding   Wore comfy capris and a tank top home

Once you get into the hospital you're not going to be wearing anything but the hospital gown anyway....at least not until a day or so after you have the baby.  You can bring a nightgown or a large, comfy and roomy t-shirt to change into after labor and a maybe bathrobe. You're not gonna wanna wear pants or pj bottoms while still in the hospital because  theyre going to keep checking you (especially if you have a c-section) and it's easier access for the nurses.  And to cut down on the packing, you can just wear the same clothes to leave the hospital that you wore there...there just be a little baggy. And once you get home, just wear whatever you feel most comfy in.

Just a vest top (for both bed and water births) leggings and a vest to come home (only have a 3 hour stay) just pajamas for after will be fine I'd say x
