Best solution to get rid of fleas???

Question

We're going to be moving to a new place soon, and our current home is unfortunately riddled with fleas and it drives me nuts because none of the pets are mine. Anyways I'm trying to find a way to stop the fleas from hitching a ride and invading the new home. 
Please any and all suggestions are welcome. I just want to get rid of these vile things!!!!!

You can get flea bombs, but you have to remove any pets or people there for a while and you have to pack your stuff up and it's kinda a long process. Diatomaceous earth is good for fleas (food grade) and can be fed to pets to help their skin and coat. Seresto collars are good, and washing the pets in dawn dishsoap or strong flea soap. Fleas are a bitch to get rid of, so it could take a little bit of time :/
