I worked from home from 6a-2:30pm and it was crazy busy. So I was looking forward to relaxing the rest of the day and maybe my mother in law stopping over. Well around 3:30 my husbands phone rings and he starts talking about people that were coming over. I'm like what's going on. He's like some people are coming over for a BBQ. I was like when were you going to mention this?! He said idk. Basically he feels like he doesn't have to check with me to have people over. I said if you told me this morning it would have been different, not last minute! Would you be pissed?! I snapped. I should have talked calming but I'm just enraged because he doesn't understand he's in the wrong. He does this shit all the time, plans things or offers to watch our nieces without checking with me. I

Jesus my roommate and I let eachother know when guests are coming as soon as it's decided. That's extremely inconsiderate of him as it's your house too. DO NOT do any cleaning, cooking, or prep for them. Go out with friends or just on a drive during this barbeque. Preferably looking fiiiine and dont tell him where you're going because obviously he's not about sharing important details

Yep. I would be pissed. These decisions are made AS A COUPLE,  not on ur own. I'm home and work 50 hours from home,  have an 9 month old daughter and take care of the house 9 am till 9 pm. If my husband ever did that, he would find himself BBQ-ing in the street. Nope, not on 4th of July,  not on any day for that matter,  without talking about it first.

I wouldn't be pissed to be honest because I love and I mean LOVE spending time with family 😂but I do see why you Are, sit him down and tell him your feelings, you deserve rest and your own time on your own time

I might let it slide a little since it's a holiday, but I'd definitely be annoyed. It's not right to spring plans on someone at the last minute.

I have mild to moderate social anxiety so I need to mentally prep myself to be around more than a few people. I would be upset too.
