My Milk Dried Up.
I had my beautiful girls at 30 weeks May 25th, and they were in the NICU until yesterday. While they were in the NICU we didn't really get a lot of practice breast feeding together, but I've been pumping every three hours up until two weeks ago when all four of us got Thrush and I had an allergic reaction to my breast pads, then I skipped a few pumpings here and there because I was in so much pain. That's when my milk supply plummeted. As soon as everything cleared up I got back to my regular pumping schedule, but no matter what I tried I couldn't get the milk to come back. I've tried hot packs, milk tea, milk cookies, massage, pumping more frequently, and there's barely any milk. Then my girls got out of the NICU yesterday, and they've been taking my full attention, so I've only been able to pump twice since they got home and both times I was completely empty. They dont feel like they're clogged, they just stopped producing milk. On top of that, I've done all the things my lactation consultant talked to me about and I just can't get any of my girls to latch on. I think they've gotten too used to the bottle at this point. I just don't know what to do. I feel so overwhelmed.
