TTC and antihistamines
I was wondering if anyone here has had trouble TTC and been told by their doctor that taking antihistamines like Claritin could be to blame.
DH and I have been trying to conceive for over a year and will be seeing a reproductive endocrinologist (infertility clinic) for an initial meeting in a couple weeks. I have bad allergies (seasonal pollen allergies, dust, dander, mold, fruit, you name it, I'm probably allergic to it).
My allergist has recommended me for allergy shots but I haven't done them and she also recommended I take Claritin every day year round. But I have read that antihistamines can affect ovulation and implantation (here's one link http://www.lanefertilityinstitute.com/blog/antihistamines).
Once the spring allergy season calmed down, I stopped taking Claritin hoping that it would improve my chances of conceiving. Since then I feel like I've been better able to tell that I ovulated than in past months. But maybe I'm just more in tune to my body. Idk. Can anyone weigh in from their experience?
