What Should I Expect?

My boyfriend recently had a slip-of-the-tongue and said I was his wife instead of his girlfriend...

I make fun of him for it sometimes, teasing him about how he really thinks of me and feels about me.

A few days ago he asked "So, if I DID ask you to marry me... Sometime down the line... You would say yes right?" I laughed, said "Well, most likely. But according to you, I'm already your wife." When I thought back on it later I realized he was actually being serious, and was genuinely curious.

Today he casually brought up that he was looking at rings today... Because "an advertisement popped up on his Facebook news feed and his curiosity got the best of him." Being a business major, and knowing the intricacies of marketing these days, i realized he tried to cover something up a bit passively, when the truth of the matter is -- shit like that doesn't just spontaneously appear on your news feed. It takes time and prior investigation...

I'm starting to think that this is less of a joke and playful banter. I may be wrong, but does this sound like a proposal is in the near future?
