Do you think snooping is ever okay? Why or why not?

I think if you feel the need to snoop, you're either wasting your time with someone who makes you feel insecure or you brought insecurities from past relationships into your current one.

No. I'm vehemently against it. I don't go through his phone or things, and he doesn't go through mine. We don't track each other on the gps either.

If I thought my child was doing something dangerous, I may consider doing this depending on the situation. But I think it's wrong to go through other people's things. I won't go through my boyfriend's phone. I think that's really creepy. I would feel violated if he went through my phone. I don't have anything to hide, but it just makes me feel so uncomfortable. I probably seem suspicious as if I'm on the computer or something, I don't want people to see what I'm doing. The feeling of having someone look over my shoulder is extremely uncomfortable.

I am honest about it. When I want to look at something I ask to snoop. Would that be wrong?

No. Both of our phones are always open. We don't even have screen locks on (I forget how to shut them off but I did because it was super annoying.) All you have to do is push a button and it wakes up. But we play this game and when he gets stuck, he hands his phone to me. Same for me. When I'm stuck we trade phones :D if my phone is dead, I use his. If his is dead, he uses mine. If we can't reply to a text or a call at the moment, we ask the other to respond for us. If I'm doing something on his, that's the only thing I'm doing. If I'm on there for the game, I'm on there for the game. If I need maps, maps is all I'm doing. I don't say hey I need maps and then spend 2 hours analyzing his text messages. Because I don't feel like I need to. If I felt like I needed to I'd have a discussion with him about why I felt like I needed to and he'd probably say have a look if you feel you need to. Same for him. If he felt like he needed to and told me so, I'd tell him to have a look.

What I don't get about people having a problem with those that "snoop" on their partners, isn't it about having trust and OPENNESS!!!  Meaning you can go on and through everything because nothing should be hidden? 
It's only snooping if you aren't actually okay with your partner seeing everything and in that case then you are the one with trust issues.
