Cramping and spotting on BC?

Hey guys! So I take birth control pills and am usually really good about it. I take them at the same time every single day. However, yesterday night I accidentally forgot to take it. I didn't have sex, and when I realized I had forgotten, I took it this morning as per the package instructions, and plan to take today's pill at the normal time. This morning I'm experiencing mild cramping and a little spotting. This has happened to me before in the past when I forgot to take a pill and like a day had past, but never this early. Has anybody else ever had this problem? It's like you take one pill late and your body gets angry🙄
