Ovulation time?

So this is my 7th month off of BC and it's the first month I've actually had a period. Its been extremely frustrating to not even be able to track ovulation. If basic day ovulation is my thing it's coming up tomorrow. Today I am slightly cramping and have twinges in my lower back on either side. I haven't taken an ovulation test at all and before BC my period was 23-25 day cycles. Could it be ovulation? I'm just really hoping it is.
