It was with my first child.

At about 6 months PP I realized my perfect marriage was a bit a mess. I also realized I was giving it zero attention using exhaustion and lack of sleep as an excuse for lack intimacy, and I include but don't just mean sex. I realized this could turn into a downward spiral. And I made the change. I put my marriage first again.

We have 3 little boys now. A healthy marriage. We are going on 10 years this year. We are very happy. We have a great sex life. We have great conversation, date nights, and great love.

Put marriage first. Always. I want to be here long after my kids are grown still in love

Somewhat initially. That newborn stage is really tough.

Definitely changed things. We hardly get any time together anymore, sex life is almost non-existent and he works all hours so that I can stay at home with our son. But despite all this, we love each other more now because we have this shared love for our child. It's different and it's a struggle but it's what we always dreamed of too.

It changed a lot, but it also made it better because we're no longer a couple but a family - somehow that's thickened our bond. We argued a lot when I was pregnant and when our daughter was first born but now she's one and a half and we are perfectly happy.

There was a rough patch until about 4 months when I realized my postpartum anxiety was negatively affecting my relationship. Since then we've been communicating better (most days 😉) and I feel closer to him but it definitely takes more work now with baby.

I have four children and a six year gap between the two youngest. It was like starting all over again and it was hard to adjust. Now things are great we have a date night once a month just him and I. We make it a point to still show each other affection.

Yes, it made life for us very difficult at first. However, we got couples counseling and I got help for my PPA and we got through it! We are stronger now and better than ever before. In my opinion, if you can get through this time, you can get through anything.
