Going home outfit?

I live in Florida and I'm due pretty much anytime in July so I'm so confused what to pack for my daughters going home outfit! I don't want her to be hot (it's usually around 95 degrees here). Would just a onesie, mittens and socks be okay for a newborn? I would have a blanket in the car seat too since we would not be outside for long

Texas over here! I packed a shorts romper with socks and hat. It's ridiculously hot here already

When I had my daughter 10 years ago she came unexpectedly, which meant we had nothing prepared. My husband had to literally run to Wal-Mart to pick up an outfit. The nurse told us she would have let us bring her home in a onesie if it weren't winter. We live in the northeast so I'm sure a onesie somewhere where it's 90+ degrees would be fine.

I would go with a long sleeve gown or long sleeve/leg one. Babies can't regulate their temperature. And coming out of the hospital, babies temp will need to stay above 98*. Going too and from the car into the house isn't going to do anything in terms of it being too hot. I'm in Texas so the heat is real here too. This is what I did with my baby born last Friday and my 10 yr old when had him. Trust me, you want them to stay warm and our L&D;/OB recommended the same thing. If you do decide to go the route of short sleeve/leg route, bundle up in nice blanket, socks, beanie and cotton mittens
