growth scan

Anyone in the UK had to go for a growth scan at 34 weeks? What was it for? I know you're only supposed to get two scans (dating scan and one at 20 weeks) I've had both and my midwife said I need a growth scan at 34 weeks but didn't mention why. I was just wondering if anyone else needed this?
