Cervical check vs membrane sweep
I had my 36 week appointment yesterday at 35 weeks and 6 days. I had my cervix checked and was told I am 2 cm dilated and 60% effaced. However, getting checked nearly brought me to tears (maybe even a couple)! Is a cervical check supposed to hurt so bad due to a rough doctor or did I possibly get a membrane sweep too? I thought doctors were supposed to tell you if they were doing a sweep, but I've heard otherwise...
