Do LDR's work out?

My boyfriend is 2 years older than me and starting college. He's going to a local college, so distance won't be a problem. But I was thinking about going to a college in NY. I wanted to know if it's possible to stay together, even if we are 6 hours apart

It can work out if you both want it to work out and you both put in the effort to make it work

I feel like it's possible but BOTH people have to make an effort to see each other as much as possible. Even if life gets busy and tough. Communication and being able to trust the person is key in a relationship. If both of you are consistent in texting, calling, showing each other appreciation, etc. I don't see how this couldn't work. But once one of you starts delaying texts, not calling, blowing off coming to see each other then that's when it becomes an issue. Especially if they start hanging out with friends you don't know (same to you) that's when jealousy kicks in. Both of you should limit the opposite sex in your life as well. Don't be going off to college and start hanging out with a bunch of guys same with him. That just adds problems. Not saying you can't have guy friends (or girl friends for him) but don't be hanging out with them. Hope this helps
