Leaving your baby?? Advice!

Right so my baby is currently 3 weeks old and I asked my mum to have him to sleep over tonight as I am so tired & also ill. But then I've heard that I have to have him sleep next to me for the first 6 weeks? Has anyone else heard this? What does everyone think? Because now it's freaked me out I don't know what to do.....

Noooo. If you feel safe with your mom having your baby overnight, it's completely fine! Baby will sleep, eat, sleep and be just fine :)

Not true although it's advised to reduce SIDS (have the baby in your room rather than a cot in his own nursery) but you can always have a night to yourself. Just make sure he can be monitored easily when he isn't near you and he is always with someone responsible.

Just make sure your mom knows to only put baby to sleep on his back. My MIL had no clue because when her kids were little they put babies on the belly to prevent gas and choking on spit up, so she didn't know.

Why do you need to sleep next to him?

My son is over 9 months and never leaves my side lol. And he is our 7th child. To each their own, but I wouldn't DREAM of leaving my 3 week old. Not at all...
