No cervical check?

Is it normal to be 37 weeks and your dr not be checking your cervix for changes?? I'm expected to go earlier than my due date and at my 36 week appointment she said she was starting checks every week but she didn't check me and she said she wouldn't until 38 weeks but everyone I've known started getting checked way earlier..

It's normal. Cervical checks aren't even necessary.
