Can my job do this??

So I started a little part time job to help my hubby with bills..
I accepted a 32 hour position They had available.
Anyways yesterday was supposed to be my first pay day yet the mail didn't run whatever...
Well when I filled out my app I put I can't work weekends cause my hubby works a 48 shift all weekend he's a emt.
So anyways are the supposed to provide you the days you said on your app you can't work?
What do I do she has me scheduled this weekend and I have no baby sitter if my hubby is working! And he makes way more than my 9. A hour so it's a loss if he calls off to let me work!! That's our real cunk of bill money
Ugh this is pissing me off all I wanted to do was help my family not have more problems.

I use to be a manager. When we make schedules we go by your availability so technically no they aren't allowed to make you work those hours.

They don't technically have to give you the days off. It's kind of like when you request time off for a vacation; just because you requested it off doesn't mean they have to give it to you. Granted they should of talked to you before they scheduled you to work. I would talk to them, I wouldn't want to work for someone who doesn't at least have the courtesy to talk to me before they schedule me on days I told them I couldn't work. How hard is it to say "hey I know you said you can't work these days but we have absolutely nobody else to do it so we're going to need you to work"

If I were you I would have mentioned it to my boss/supervisor/whoever as soon as you saw the schedule and saw that you were scheduled for weekends when that was not your availability. If they were ok with your availability when they hired you then they should be able to make it work. It might be too late at this point to get someone to cover this weekend depending on how many people they usually have working on any given day so I'm not sure what you should do about this weekend specifically, if it's a retail or restaurant type job (not sure just guessing) they may have pretty strict policies against how many times you can call off without getting let go, I know it sucks just not sure what advice to give on that.

Just because you ask for days off doesn't mean they will give them to you. I'd talk to your manager and explain the situation

No. In all the jobs I've had, I needed to specifically talk with whoever was in charge of scheduling to ensure I was only scheduled when I was available. Also, did you discuss this in your interview or when you were offered the job? That's when this should have been discussed originally. In my experience, what you say in your application doesn't matter.
