What are your rules of thumb for being single, dating and/or hooking up ?

- Do NOT have sex with anyone that you canNOT call in an emergency

1. If hooking up or becoming sexually active with a partner get tested beforehand. It's an awkward question to ask but I've done so and it's reduced my number from 14 or so people to just 8 I think. If a guy isn't comfortable with it I'm not comfortable getting down with him. 
2. A personal rule is no drunks or anyone under the influence of drugs. I want none of that involved with a hook up and even now with my 3 year relationship. With new people it's really just to prevent unintended consequences or blurred lines, or worse would be to rape someone. 
3. When I was regularly looking for cuties to bang I specifically looked for not really smart guys. Sounds awful, probably is awful to some people, but I'm hooking up for a dick, not a genuine connection. 
4. When a hook up caught feelings that was it. We're done. No friends with benefits or anything. 
5. If my interest is playing hard to get I'm out. Again, if I want a hookup I'm not aiming for anything more. I'm not browsing for my one and only so if you aren't open from the start I'll move on to someone who is up front about their consent. 
6. Don't give in to peer pressure. If you aren't comfortable DON'T DO IT. I hooked up because it was fun for me and I enjoyed it. It was easy to do with no repercussions, and if you aren't like that than gurl don't feel pushed to do anything you don't want.  
There's some others but my last rule of thumb is making sure it is crystal clear that if I get pregnant I will terminate the pregnancy. I used protection with every partner, but nothing is 100% and I did not engage further if they couldn't accept that answer.

2. If you are not in an exclusive relationship don't expect exclusivity.
3. Never lead someone on. If you are not open to getting married/having children/buying a house a six cats one day the say so straight away.
