7 years age difference, does it matter?

So I am currently 16 and my boyfriend is 22. We get a lot of judgement from others and we are long distance at the moment. Is it too big of an age gap? What sort of things can we do to help our situation and the way others judge us including close friends and family? We would really like to know others opinions on this subject.

i dont think the age gap itself is too big (husband and i are 22 yrs apart). but a 16 yr old and 22 yr old are in 2 totally different stages of life. Alot of maturing happens in those 6 yrs too. also check your local consent laws.

i was 15 and my boyfriend was 20 when we started. im 23 now and he is 28. people were giving us the same attitude,  but look where we are now :)

I'm 19, my bf is 26. I started living with him last year when I was 17 (Birthday in July). my grandmother who raised me doesn't like him solely because he's older than me but all of a sudden wants to know his intentions lol. As long as he loves you for you, have fun ❤❤❤
