Do I have to wake newborn up to feed?

Is it necessary to have to wake my newborn up every two hours to eat?? when it reaches the two hour point and I check on him he seems the least bit hungry is is sound asleep without a flinch..he has at the normal amount of pee and poop diapers and he's gaining weight from his last weight check at the hospital since we saw his pediatrician today. He is formula fed.

Doctors recommend no more than 4-5hrs between the feedings. Ask your pediatrician. My daughter was a good sleeper and at first I was very alarmed by her not waking up every 2 hrs. My pediatrician listened to me and said"so what are you complaining about again?" We both laughed and she explained me that i could let her sleep for 4hrs without any worries. Good luck to you 🌹

If your baby has regained their birth weight, usually your pediatrician will tell you to let them sleep. They will wake you when they're hungry! I would double check with your pediatrician to be sure :)

While breastfeeding, I'd wake her up to sleep because if she woke up "hAngry" it would be tough to get her to latch on. Once I started bottle feeding, I just let that baby sleep and I slept and it was beautiful. 😭😆
