sex on period

I honestly have never considered it, because it's weirded me out but I'm at the point where I can't take it any more 😫 me and my SO have been together for 3 years and have never tempted to have sex on my period unless it was when I was about to be off and we went at it in the shower. But, I can't handle it anymore. I've been weeks without sex and now my periods started and I just honestly think at this point I'm willing to give it a shot. So if you've done it, give me advice to try and not be so freaked out. I'm just worried about if it's gonna be a mess etc. 😫😅
