Really painful period cramps after losing virginity?

Alright so, I lost my virginity back in April, basically almost four months ago, and ever since that happened my period cramps have been super super painful. Like “I have a heating pad on me but I’m still completely bedridden for at least 4 hours and I can’t go back to sleep because sh*t hurts so bad” painful.

Is this a normal thing? I’ve been sexually active since then and always used condoms. I’ve always used midol for it but it doesn’t help a lot.

Do you guys think I should go to the gynecologist if this happens again next month and try to get birth control?
