Push gifts?

Question

I never heard of them until I started using this app. Do women really get gifts for pushing there babies out? This might sound blunt, but when you got pregnant how did you expect it to get out? And why do you need a present for your body doing what it naturally does? I think the gift is being able to push your baby out. A lot of women struggle with infertility or miscarriages, why do women who push a baby out get a gift?

I guess I'm just curious as to why women get them?

It's a celebration! You pushed your baby out successfully and you just went through a crazy experience and your body also just went through the most crazy experience it ever has, why not celebrate with gifts! 🤗

My husband and I never discussed it, but he got me a necklace, which he felt I deserved after needing an emergency csection after laboring all day with no success.

I didn't hear about it until the end of my pregnancy with my son last year. It's my understanding that it's a specific gift from dad to mom as a way of saying "thanks a bunch for doing something I can't even imagine doing" and to commemorate the birth, like a necklace or something. I didn't get one; I didn't want one. My gift was my little mama's boy 💙

I have never given or received one I think it's kind of odd but from parent magazine I have read it usually is something for the mother like lotion or body cream etc from what I have seen like bath and body works stuff

I didn't get a push gift for any of my gifts(3 total), and I had never heard of it until I was pregnant with my last. 
In my opinion I thought it was a celebration from the husband to the wife for bringing a life into the world! For all those uncomfortable moments, morning sickness, mood swings, etc...

I didn't get a push present for my first although I wouldn't have minded one! Gifts for any occasion are nice. So for my second due end of August, I went ahead and had a little shopping spree at the Nordstrom Anniversary sale. 😍😂

Like I said, I never heard of it. So I don't know why people do it. I know they can do whatever they want. I was just unsure of the point or why some people do it. I wasn't trying to hate or be rude.
