Will IVF work?

Hello ladies,
I was hoping I could get some of your help and wisdom on something.
My DH (age 31) and Myself (age 27) have been trying to conceive for 2.5 years. He is fine but I was not ovulating (so far that is all they feel is wrong). For the last 6 months I have been on 50mg of clomid which is working and making me ovulate with decent size follicles. However still no pregnancy.
My time on the wait list for IVF is here and I will be doing it in September. My question is if my issue was ovulation and that was fixed, could my issue then be implantation? If this is the case and implantation is my problem, wouldn't IVF fail? I am going to see my doctor to discuss everything second week in August but I just wanted to get some feedback from you ladies. Perhaps you all have been  through something similar or have any ideas on what's going on or if IVF worked for you.

I feel it's a numbers game, and it depends on the reason for infertility. We have unexplained. 3 years ttc naturally, 6 months clomid. 3 failed femera medicated iui . 2 failed embryo transfers. And my 3 transfer ended in a chemical. We cannot afford another retrieval so we are on an embryo donation list which has a 2 years waiting list. However, that's just my story, I've seen many women here achieve a pregnancy, and some who have had more than one!  and some who have done more cycles than me and still not conceived. It's a hard choice to make! And I've learned that everyone's story is unique, and none of it has been predicable! Good luck

We had a similar story as yours. Had a M/C from Clomid and IUI and 6 other rounds of failed IUI.  After the IVF retrieval they started me on Progesterone shots to ensure the lining was thick to help with implantation and it worked.  We had 1 egg and that's all it took.  Good luck!

Hi Kaitlin! 
Like you, I had issues with ovulation, we went the IVF route as my husband had low sperm count and morphology. The discussion around implantation never came up, as there are prescriptions your IVF nurse will put you on to increase chances of implantation (e.g. Medrol, embryo glue, etc.) 
I had IVF in May 2017, and a Frozen Embryo Transfer (FET) on 8/29, and just recently confirmed I am 4weeks 3days pregnant! 
All that to say, if you're concerned about implantation, ask your doctor, they will come up with a plan that is tailored to you and your OH!

IVF #3 worked for me at 41 after a 90 day prep with DHEA, Ubiquinol, vitamins and acupuncture to improve my egg quality (partners has no issues).   You may not have any egg quality concerns but I'd suggest reading 'It Starts with the Egg' (book) and 'Agate guide to learning from your failed ivf cycle' blog before starting IVF.  Both were very helpful resources for me in knowing what to ask my RE (including about the 90 day prep). and in deciding which ART path to take when she gave us options (ie low stim vs full stim, protocol changes including ICSI and AEH, how many try's before switching to donor eggs, etc).   Feeling secure in the knowledge I was doing everything possible in cycle 3 helped me stay a lot calmer and less emotional (noted by my friends) and helped us get our first BFP ever.  On a side note, outside the standard HSG SH tests, have you had your thyroid levels checked along with your hormone panel?  I'm hypothyroid and know how much of a difference it can make to your fertility.

There are so many more factors they can control with IVF. They can use ICSI to pick the best sperm, assisted hatching...genetic testing...

It could be an issue when sperm meets egg. Like the 2 are just not compatible but ivf will overcome that. I did ivf with icsi. There was an issue with the cells that surround my eggs. Which we'd never know had we not done ivf. I am in my tww from my first transfer now.
