How to clean it??

Question

Hey girls! So I just got my belly button pierced today. But my piercer didn't really tell me what to do to clean it. I bought non iodized sea salt to rinse with but when do I start doing that? Today? Or tomorrow? Should I clean it with something else too?

Honestly Ive had my belly button piercing for 4 years, when I first had it done I didn't touch it I just left it heal on its own. And it completely healed within a few weeks. I got my nose pierced and cleaned it, that's when it got infected cause I was touching it, so personally I think it's best to just leave all piercings heal naturally

Also there's a spray they have at Walmart in the jewelry department it's a sea salt spray for piercings! Only $10 I found it much easier and it healed fine

Just once or twice a day :) just make sure to ask your piercer if there is any crazy changes (redness, heat, oozing...)

With clean hands use 1/4 teaspoon of your sea salt in 1 cup of lukewarm water, stir until its dissolved. Either use a shot glass or something to soak the piercing as best you can and/or use a cotton swab to clean away any discharge. Do this twice a day starting tonight. I find its best to do it after a shower since the water and steam tend to soften up the grossness. Try not to move the jewelry around as best you can. You can also use h2ocean or any retail piercing solution or even a bottle of nasal spray you can find at the pharmacy at the grocery store. As long as it's pure sea salt and water.

Salt really just drys it out and irritates the wound. 
Buy some antibacterial soap preferably liquid and wash it thoroughly multiple times a day, make sure all the soap is out. 
(Make sure its antibacterial soap or it will get infected) 
Wash in the shower multiple times and make sure the soaps clean. Always clean all of the infection or blood that comes out of it and drys on your ring. It will ooze for a while but if it starts to look too bad and feel painful id go to the dr to get it checked out.

I used to wash my hands, put a squirt of soap on my hand and then get a q tip wet and rub it in the soap until I got foam. Put the foam around the holes and rinsed it super good like once a day. Every other day I did a salt water soak and I used H2Ocean a few times a day. My piercer recommended that and to avoid touching it as much as possible (like only touch it while cleaning).

I would clean it tonight, and then do it three times a day everyday for at least 6 months if you're worried about it becoming infected.

Now and/or tonight, wash it with warm water and the sea salt. You should clean it twice a day for two weeks or until redness and swelling is gone for awhile. I would even put coconut oil on afterwards to moisturise but I don't k is how your skin would react in the same situation.
