I haven't had a period since my miscarriage

I had an early miscarriage at 7 weeks about 6 weeks ago which caused bleeding like a heavy period, but since then I haven't had any symptoms that my period is going to start. How long does it usually take for your cycle to return to normal? My husband and I really want to start trying again.
