Scared to tell him I love him. PLEASE HELP

I am terrified. I will admit it. I'm scared to even bring it up. Because he said he won't tell a girl before 9 months. Which I found ridiculous. And he's leaving for college in a week and I want to tell him. He's dropped hints I feel. One night in the car, from the club we were arguing and he was like "I must be in love with a liar"( don't remember the convo) I just stared at him and said nothing. Then the other day he said "pay attention to this part of the movie" and they said "If a man gives you the last piece of his food that means he loves you" and the night before he did that exact thing... I was so scared cause I didn't know what hw implied. But I said "I like you too" I think I fucked up. What can i do to imply? Any movies? Any ideas?
