Fertility health - tips/advice please

Hi ladies! I'm 30 going on 31 this year. My fiancé and I aren't quite ready for pregnancy yet. It will likely be another 18 months before we start trying as our life/career situation will have settled by then.

I'm just wondering if there are good tips/advice here for checking my fertility between now and then? My doctor says she won't recommend me to a gyno until we've been trying at least a year? So I guess not knowing if we will/won't conceive easily as I get older is a little stressful.
