First AF after miscarriage

Had a miscarriage July 4th. AF came for the first time since the m/c... It's very heavy. Multiple clots every hour that I have to go to the bathroom and change my pad.... Is this normal? I'm bleeding as much/if not more than when I had the miscarriage ?!
