Potential BF or FWB???

There's this guy that I really like and I know he likes me but I'm not sure if he wants to date or if he's just looking for a FWB kind of deal.

We have so much in common and I feel like I could talk to him for hours without running out of things to say. (There's actually been multiple times where we've stayed up til 4 in the morning just talking because we didn't want to go home.)

I know I should probably just ask him what he wants but I'm afraid of making things awkward! What do you guys think I should do?
