Birth control and pre cum question

am i still protected by my combination birth control pill if i take it every day but not at the same time? also the other day i was supposed to take a pill and i didn't that day but i took it at 1am so that was technically the next day, am i still protected? i'm worried bc me and a boy were dry humping and he only had on boxers and i was naked so it felt like we were having sex but he didn't ejaculate during this but i think there was pre cum and i'm scared that i can be pregnant, any help is appreciated!
