I'm 30 weeks pregnant can I go near a child with foot and mouth

I was actually exposed (without my knowledge) to a child with HFM at around 17 weeks. The mother called to let me know afterwards and I freaked out and called my OB. They said it's highly unlikely that I would have gotten it, and even if I did it would likely not be harmful to the baby. The biggest risk is in the first trimester, when you might get a fever which can be very dangerous for baby. 
That being said, I still would not knowingly be around a child with HFM while pregnant. It's just not worth the risk.

This happened to me. I was supposed to go to my in-laws and my MIL called me and said her grandkids all had HFM and just wanted me to know. I went up two weeks later. After they were well and the place was clean.

My son randomly got hand foot mouth about 2 months ago, i was 20some weeks.. ended up being stupid and sharing a fork for breakfast one morning by accident and I ended up getting a mild case of it myself, sore throat, blisters on feet and a couple on my hands. 
Everywhere ive read says you and baby are fine as long as you arent near birthing. 
And then my OB told me its not good to get it in first trimester 🙄 oye So yeah. Just remember its a viral thing, so coming in contact with spit, bodily fluids, or even liquid from their blisters can make it spread to you. So stay washing your hands and not drinking or eating after whoever is infected.

My daughter had this about 3 time while I was pregnant with my son (she always caught it from nursery 😖) you just need to wash your hands loads but adults don't usually tend to catch it
