Do you think it's acceptable for OBGYNs to push birth control on patients?

My OBGYN likes to push BC on me. And honestly I don't think that is ethical. It's fine to ask if I'd like to talk about my options. However to continuously push for me to get on BC I think is personally too much. Especially since I've already expressed that I am not interested in getting on it. 
What are your thoughts on this? 
NOTE: please realize that this is about PUSHING BC not simply asking. There's a big difference!

I don't know the situation here so it's hard to say. Why is she pushing birth control? Is it because it would benefit you medically? Are you sexually active and not looking for a child? My answer would completely depend on the situation.

I mean that's a huge part of their job. Like half of their job is dealing with pregnancies. A large portion of them are unplanned. If you don't like it, express that to them. They're just looking out for us.

Have you told her that you don't want birth control being pushed on you? Have you told her that she can stop suggesting it because you aren't going to change your mind?
If no - maybe you should try that. She is probably suggesting it because she thinks it will benefit you in some way. Trying to help you isn't really rude. And she can't know that it is annoying you unless you communicate that. 
If you have told her - then find a new doctor. Because obviously you and this one have different ideas about how your health should be handled. She may have good reviews but there is such a thing as not being "compatible" with your doctor. This is why it takes some people years to find a doctor. Just because she has high reviews - doesn't mean that every other doctor is bad.

I felt that with mine, but she was also very pushy towards me exercising and losing weight.  She was just too assertive I guess and I switched to another Dr.

No the doctor shouldn't push anything on you. They can advise you on the best course of treatment, but you have the right to refuse it no matter how frustrating it may be to a medical professional.

I’d be pissed if any doctor pushed anything on me. Inform me and I’ll make a choice. Push me and I’ll find a new doctor.

Definitely not okay. I'm studying to be a midwife and we're always taught to offer informed choice but be as unbiased as possible.
We want people making choices because they truly think it's right for them, not to put someone else's mind at ease.

I think you need a new OBGYN if yours makes you uncomfortable. If you're sexually active and not wanting a baby I can understand that they feel its their responsibility to advocate birth control for your wellbeing, but if you feel pressured and uncomfortable, that's not the right doctor for you.
