Do I choose the hospital I will deliver at?

So this is al new to me I'm a ftm, I'm bearly 13 weeks pregnant but I want to understand how things work because the hospital that's super close to me is horrible, and I'm terrified of being hospitalized there for my delivery, my ob is in that same area tho, do I have to choose the same doctor that's going to be in the hospital area or how does it work? Can I choose the hospital I want to go to ?

I would say then pick an ob that corresponds with the hospital you want to give birth at to make it easier but of course yes you can walk in any other hospital you want they just wont have immediate access to your records

Usually your OB will tell you which hospitals they deliver at. If your not comfortable with any of those I would tour some other hospitals and find an OB that delivers at the one you want. Or you can look into some birth centers in the area if you were wanting to go a more natural route. 😊

My original gynecologist/OB is not my OB for pregnancy.  I chose the hospital I wanted and asked for an experienced female, who is my new OB. It's your baby and your body,  you decide. I chose my hospital based on whether or not they had an NCIU, a reputable score for maternity, and performed cesareans only when medically needed... and of course the estimated cost to have a baby there based on my insurance.

I chose my hospital before I chose my provider. There's a hospital 5 minutes away from me that I want nothing to do with. There's another hospital about 20 minutes away that has BEAUTIFUL birthing suites and is overall much better than the one closer to me. I knew where I wanted to birth so I found a midwife practice that delivered there.

You can choose where ever you want your baby. You can have it at home with a midwife at home or a birth center if you wanted. Its your labor And the birth of your baby you do,it where YOU feel safe

yes you choose the hospital you deliver at. generally, around the 30-week mark you will pre-register so they run your insurance to make sure you're covered there. if your doctor is an OBGYN , they will likely be the one to deliver your baby.
but keep in mind that nothing is guaranteed. if the delivery Ward is full, you will be turned away and sent to another hospital. if your doctor happens to be at the end of their rotation or on vacation, you will have another doctor.
