Thoughts on this Instagram post?

Not sure if this has been posted before as it's a few weeks old, but I am wondering what people think of this dudes instagram post:

At first it seems sweet but there has been a decent amount of negativity from people saying he's basically patting himself on the back for being attracted to his wife and acting like he's brave for dating "thick" girls, which I definitely agree with. But the general reception has been overall in his favour so I'm wondering what people here think of it.
