Anybody take Fluoxetine? Anxiety/Depress. Medication

Anybody take or taken the Anxiety/Depression medication called Fluoxetine? I just started it 2 weeks ago 20 mg once a day. How did it work for you and what were your side effects? So far I'm not sure if I've noticed a difference or not. I suffer with Generalized Anxiety Disorder that causes me to become depressed. I was just curious about other people's experience with this drug.

I did! It helped me big time and the only side effect I had were horrible nightmares. I fixed that though by taking it in the morning. It was great for my anxiety and depression.

I was on 20mg and found it made absolutely no difference. I gave it about 2 months but didn't feel any different at all. It will be different for different people though, I found counselling helped me more as it was for PTSD so the pills were to take the edge off so the counselling would work better.

I take is with the same amount and while it doesnt seem like it helps much, if you get off of it you will realize just how much it was helping your anxiety, especially when paired with therapy

I used to and i took half the pill, had to go to the hospital. Stay away from pills, they're a way of making money off you being sick without benefitting you in any way. It may have "helped" some people but you really don't need a pill for anything, unless of course you're dying or are in an emergency situation. It's one step up from a band aid it's just not good for you on the long run.

I'm on it same dosage. I also have GAD. Lexapro works better for me but fluoxetine is safer while TTC.

I take that and the only side effects i got was dizzyness when i stand up. but dont stop taking it out of nowhere bc it affected me badly

Yes. If been taking it for 2 years now and at first I was convinced it didn't work but after talking with doctor it did start to help after upping my dose a couple times (now at 60mg)

im on 80 mgs 40 mil capsules twice daily followed buy 1mg xanax 2x a day and its helped alot ive been on them for about a year now. will have to say that if u forget to take ur prozac for me its like more than 5 days once its built up in ur system it has some wicked withdrawal symptoms. I haven't stopped taking it completely trying to conceive my doctor wants to slowly taper me off them so withdraw isn't as bad and find something safe to take during a pregnancy.
