Would you tell you best friend if her boyfriend contacted you?

My close friends boyfriend who I haven't spoken to in years, snapchatted me asking for "help" because he wanted info about something he thought I'd know abt tht she had done. I got irritated because I think that he shouldn't have been trying to get info out of me abt her, so I told her tht he contacted me and was trying to get info. Was I wrong to do that? Would you tell your best friend if her boyfriend contacted you and did something similar!

If he was contacting me because he wanted to buy her something and needed ideas,  sure that's okay.   But any relationship issues or concerns he might have,  I'd tell her for sure.  You don't need to be dragged into his issues.

I only put "maybe" bc in my experience I've had "best friends" who didn't believe me on that sort of thing. Or maybe she was just really insecure about her relationship, but she didn't appreciate me telling her the truth and tried to spin it like I was just making it up bc I was "jealous" of their relationship 🙄

Kind of confused about what he actually wanted from you but regardless of that your loyalty is to your friend not to some guy she's dating so I say you tell her
