do your babies play in their bedroom or the livingroom?

Question

I'm decorating my sons bedroom during the week and I'm unsure of whether to make it a sensory room with his toys in it, or whether this will be a nightmare when it comes to bed time and him wanting to play rather than sleep? 
what do you all do and any experiences of this?

We turned our den into the play room but I have a hidden stash of toys and books in the living room for entertaining him while I'm cooking. He mainly just has books in his bedroom I try to keep toys out of there so his bedroom is more for quiet time and sleeping.

mine play everwhere but their bedrooms. They play in the kitchen, dining room, family room, loft and our bedroom on bath nights or putting laundy away .

We spend most of the time playing in the living room. His bedroom is the smallest room and I'm turning another room into a playroom. I figured I would rather him know his room his for sleeping at this age.

Is he still in a crib? We have toys in her bedroom but we have places for them to go so they're not scattered everywhere. I have a cubby shelf in her closet that we put toys on and we can shut the door. We also have a toy box in her room.

We spend minimal amounts of time in her room. Mostly beciase it's upstairs and everything else is downstairs. We converted an area downstairs into her playroom with all her toys so she can hang out in a safe space while we do stuff around the house. Just kinda how it happened, but I do feel that keeping her bedroom kinda sparse and mostly for sleeping will help when we transition to a bigger bed. And of course when she's older her will become more of a hangout spot, but I'm guessing it'll be already a year or so before that happens. :)
