MIL rant

Da

So after a super long time dealing with boundary issues with my mil things got easier... but tonight we're back to square one... so we went over to my in laws house tonight and last time we were there I brought a small bag of toys for the baby to keep at their place... the bag has a few board books, some wooden blocks and a wooden stacking toy. So tonight we went over my partner went and got the bag out... well when he took everything out he saw a note on the box of blocks that said "please don't let aspen put in her mouth"... so she wrote a note to us about what to not give our daughter... right well she's teething and literally everything goes in her mouth and yes we have tons of teething toys for her but she gets bored of them easily and often likes other things. 1. I'm not endangering my child by letting her put wooden building blocks in her mouth... there's no small parts and nothing harmful... 2. You're so passive aggressive you have to write a note??? So then I ask her... so what did he (my partner) play with when he was a baby? She said well we didn't have much we were poor, maybe a ball... yea I'm pretty sure you didn't spend all day taking things out of his mouth especially things that aren't harmful... then she starts freaking out that my daughter is crawling on the floor but she hasn't mopped... well it looks pretty clean and she'll be fine... then she gets upset that she doesn't want to be held by her... she's a very active crawling baby not a newborn. Then... last straw... my SO says that we don't wanna take any leftover food home cuz he made hamburgers before we left so we'll eat those tomorrow... then she goes off and she's like don't give her hamburger!!... she always gives us a rough time cuz we do BLW and she always asks "she can eat that??" Or "that piece is too big!!"... seriously lady this isn't no mcdonalds hamburger... we buy organic grass fed meat and we thoroughly cook the meat and meat is good for you... lots of protein and nutrients... so I didn't say a thing I just said well she needs to go to bed so we're leaving... so annoying!! I'm not hurting or endangering my child woman!!
