So I had my blood test done today, I'll get my results in 7-10 days. When I got there the registration lady said your insurance covers it so you don't have to worry about the other form. Now, before this appointment my midwife asked me did I want genetic testing done. I, of course said yes and that I just wanted blood drawn. When I went in to the room to get blood taken the nurse said this test is for women who had already have a baby who has genetic disorder / or women over 35 (I'm 19). She then went on to say this test can range from $200-4000... I looked at her and told her my insurance covers it, the lady up front even told me so, and my doctor asked if I wanted this done because she knew that it was also. The nurse said "yes but only if you qualify"... I got the test done anyway because I only qualify for my insurance because I'm pregnant and my income. Plus, why wouldn't I want to know if there is something wrong with my child? I need to know so I can be prepared and get the proper care.

My plan- if I get hit with a bill that's 400+, that's something my insurance will have to figure out with the hospital lol
