Retiring Rejecting Nipple Piercings

Hey there!

So, I've had my nipple piercings for almost two years now. At first they were fine and fun, I enjoyed having them.

Now, they are still having a hard time healing. Once in a while I will get them caught in something that causes them to bleed, which makes it irritated and sore. I have also noticed that they might be rejecting (I'm having difficulty telling, probably due to my flat nipples).

If any of you experienced these issues, how did you remove them? By yourself or by a piercer? And what sort of aftercare did you use after removing them? I just want to remove them myself to get it over with but I was wondering if there was a safe way to go about it.
