Anyone else's cat get this?

Question

Everyday my cat has eye discharge, I guess a better word would be eye mucus, not a lot but I have to wipe her eyes everyday. It's gross. Always dried. Is this normal for cats? Should I take her to the vet? She has always had this. She's almost a year old.

As a vet I can say all animals get eyes discharge- it's just like what people get (that stuff that gets crusty in the corner of your eye when you wake up- same thing). If the eye looks weepy and/or red, swollen, etc and the discharge is constant then that's a problem and should defiantly be seen by your vet. But a small amount is completely normal and actually means their eyes are healthy and functioning properly. But getting your cat a physical is never a bad idea and cats should see the vet yearly anyways (kittens should see a vet more frequently considering they need vaccination, but that depends on your region).
