I got my nose pierced in November by a professional and it was okay for the first few week but then I fell down on the job as far as cleaning and I developed a keloid along with redness, swelling, and yellow/green discharge. I managed to get rid of those symptoms for a few weeks but then they kept coming back. It's been a constant struggle to keep it clean and I feel like every time I move the stud to clean it I just make the hole bigger and irritate it more. The last time I got a keloid and swelling/redness was about three months ago and it has stayed that way ever since even though I've used soap, sea salt soaks, and tea tree oil. This is what it looks like now. I've heard you're not supposed to take out a piercing when it's infected but I feel like leaving it in is it what's causing the problem and I just want to take it out. Do you think this will help? Or should I not take it out? (Also I don't care if it closes up, so that's not a factor that will play into my decision.)
