Tubes and tonsil/adenoid surgery

Have any of you moms had to do the tubes or tonsil & adenoid surgery yet for your March '16 babes? My sweet boy is going in for all of it in 8 days after his current ear infection clears up. I'm just wondering..... how did you make it through?! I'm a wreck. But I know he needs this surgery. He's miserable. He's been chronically sick since he was 2 months old. 😭 I had to beg his ped for a referral because she was happy seeing us 3 times a month and thought there was nothing serious going on. The specialist took one look in his ears and had 2 other doctors confirm his findings - he had an adult grade ear infection which only happens in infants if you've had a crap ton of ear infections before..... his exact words "I normally have a discussion with parents with a few different options. There's no options. He needs surgery." 😩 kicking myself for letting it get this far. Any advice? Did you babies mood change overall too, other than the NOT being sick 24/7? Did anyone have complications? Tell me all! I want to be prepared!
