Is this too weird for a baby shower?

Since our baby shower will take place in the south and in the middle of winter, I thought why not have soups and stews instead of crackers, fruits, and veggies? What's your opinion? Soups would be : Potato Soup, Roast with Potatoes and Carrots, Chicken Stew, Vegetable Soup, and maybe Taco Soup. We will also do a cake, punch, desserts, and we were thinking about s'mores as party favors
