How quickly did the bloating start? Is your abdomen stiff? And are you taking any medications?
If the bloating happened over night and was a significant change for your normal size it could be cause for concern. There could be fluid sitting in your abdomen where it shouldn't be (this would also be extremely uncomfortable). 
If the bloating occurred after eating, it's probably your body preparing to release whatever didn't sit well with you. Typically your abdomen will be pretty extended and stiff. 
If your only slightly bloated it may just be a pms symptom and is totally normal. Like someone said before, your body reacts differently to many different things. 
But if you feel concerned, it never hurts to call your doctor just to ask. That's what they are there for!
