Will I know when I get a Braxton hick?

This is my first pregnancy I'm a few days shy of 38 weeks and I don't think I've had any. Is this normal? Will I know when I get one? What do you ladies think?

I started getting them at 38-39 weeks. I'm due today and I'm waiting for that moment to say oh it's not Braxton hicks it's the real thing but this little girl is way to comfy. I'm hoping today at my appointment they will tell me some good news.

I'm a ftm at 39w and I don't think I've really had any either. From what I've read not everyone gets them

I've been having BH since roughly 24 weeks. They aren't painful per say, but they are definitely uncomfortably tight. At first it was just like something was squeezing me around the ribs and only the top part of my stomach was getting tight. At 34+4 weeks, the tightness starts at the top of my uterus just under my breasts, and then I feel it continue to get tighter as it moves to the bottom of my uterus near my pubic bone and holds from anywhere from 40 seconds to 2 minutes. As of 3:45 this morning I started to get menstrual type cramping off and on during a contraction, so I think my body is trying to slowly transition from BH to labor contractions soon. I have no idea though how to tell the exact difference. 😂

When I started getting Braxton hicks around 25 weeks it was just kind of weird and a little uncomfortable but I wasn't sure at first that's what it was

I started getting them around 22 weeks. I thought my baby was just pushing his butt up against my stomach, but my whole stomach gets hard when he does it. It's not painful, just a little uncomfortable. Some women don't get them and that's totally fine! They are meant to tone your muscles to help with the real thing, but not necessary. I've heard they are more common after your first pregnancy, but this is my first so who knows. Every woman's body is different and yours knows what it needs, so I wouldn't worry.

Lol mine are so painful. I've been having them since 21 weeks.

I didn't know I've been having contractions either my fiancé saw and felt my stomach and told me I was lol I'm a FTM and to me they feel like my baby stretching 🤷🏻‍♀️ doesn't hurt or feel awkward so I didn't know . 
My doctor said that's normal and  everyone is different . Some don't have bh at all . Some say it's painful lol
In my case the best way I can explain it is for me it feels like the baby is stretching against my belly and my belly gets rock hard . Then once it stops my belly is jiggly again lol
