Early mc ttc timeframe

Hi, I am currently in the last stage if very light spotting after a very early first mc at approx 4w5d. I had blood draws to confirm hormone levels dropped and doctor said we could ttc again after my first period (she said to allow healthy wall buildup). I've seen many women post about trying right away after feeling physically and emotionally well enough, my question is would it matter much if we didn't abstain before my first period since I wasn't far along at all or is important to wait or use precautions?
